If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

How the progress estimate works

The Reading tool offers estimates of how long it will take to read each book, based on its word count and an average reading speed. These estimates are approximate; your own pace will vary depending on the text's density and your familiarity with the subject.

Use the estimates to decide whether a book fits into a lunch break, a weekend, or a longer commitment. The library includes everything from quick reads of around 10,000 words to marathon works exceeding 150,000 words.

Quick Reads

About 19 books are estimated to be quick reads, under 60 minutes. These are ideal for a short sitting, perhaps a single essay or a brief collection.

Steady Reads

28 books fall into the steady range, about 1 to 3 hours. These might take a few sittings and are suitable for a weekend afternoon.

Immersive and Marathon

46 books are immersive (3-6 hours) or marathon (over 6 hours). These are substantial works, often with deep historical or philosophical content, for readers ready to invest more time.
